Description
Millbrook Cottage is a pair of cottages dating from the mid-18th century. They are built of coursed squared ironstone with a slate roof and feature brick end and ridge stacks. The cottages are two storeys high with an attic and have a five-window range.
No. 4 has a two-unit plan and a central 19th-century part-glazed four-panel door with a wood lintel. To the left of the door is a three-light 20th-century casement window, while to the right are two-light casements on both the ground floor and first floor, all with wood lintels. The gable on the right is stone-coped.
No. 6 has a three-unit plan and a 20th-century door located to the left of centre, also with a wood lintel. There is a 20th-century bay window on the ground floor to the left, a four-light casement window on the first floor to the left, and otherwise two-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors, all featuring wood lintels. The interiors of both cottages include chamfered spine beams. The cottages are included for their group value.
