Description
Woodbine Cottages are two cottages located on Snuff Lane in Shotteswell, dating from the mid to late 18th century, with 20th-century alterations. They are constructed from regularly coursed ironstone and feature concrete tile roofs.
No. 1, situated on the left, has a two-unit plan, is two storeys tall with an attic, and has a two-window range. It has a central half-glazed four-panel door from the 19th or 20th century, topped by a shaped hood. The windows are mid-20th-century two-light metal casements with glazing bars, and the ground floor has wood lintels that are chamfered and painted. The roof features gabled dormers.
No. 2 has a one-unit plan, is one storey tall with an attic, and has a one-window range. It features a part-glazed ribbed door from the 20th century on the right and a two-light 20th-century casement window. The wood lintels are painted, and there is a large mid-20th-century gabled roof dormer with a three-light casement window that includes glazing bars. This cottage does not have a chimney. The interior has not been inspected. The cottages are included for their group value.
