Description

The Flying Horse Stores is a former public house that has been converted into a house and shop. The right range dates from the late 17th century, the center from the 18th century, and the left range and wing from the early 19th century. The building is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble. The left range and wing feature a slate roof, while the center and right ranges have artificial slates. The right range has a coped gable parapet and a brick ridge stack. The structure is L-shaped with a wing on the right at the rear, consisting of two storeys and a cellar, and has a two-window range.

On the left side, there is a 20th-century part-glazed cellar door. The left corner of the central range has a blocked doorway with a wooden lintel, and the entrance is located at the rear. The left range has a two-light ground floor casement, while the central range features a three-light casement and a 19th-century three-light canted bay made of brick with a slate roof, adorned with horizontal glazing bars. The first floor has two-light 20th-century casements, and painted wood lintels are present throughout. The right range has no windows. The right return side includes a two-light stone-mullioned window with a hood mould, and the gable has an oval sunk panel with a cornice and a small two-light leaded casement. The rear of the building is irregular, with two entrances to each wing, featuring 19th and 20th-century ribbed, plank, and part-glazed doors, as well as 19th and 20th-century casements. The interior has not been inspected.
