Description
Woolgrove Cottage is a cottage that was formerly several buildings. The right half is possibly from the 17th century, raised and refaced in the mid-18th century, while the left half dates to the early or mid-18th century. The cottage is constructed of regularly coursed ironstone and features a thatched roof with stacks at the right end and ridge, primarily made of old bricks. It has a four-unit plan, is two storeys high with an attic, and has a three-window range. The entrance is located at the rear.
The cottage has old leaded casements throughout. The left half includes two and three-light casements with painted wood lintels on the ground floor and two-light casements on the first floor. The right half features a projecting plinth, three pilaster strips, and a string course. There is a two-light chamfered mullioned cellar window on the left, where the mullion has been removed and a fixed light window inserted. The ground floor has three-light windows, while the first floor has two-light windows, all with stone flat arches and keystones.
A small one-storey addition on the right has a 20th-century window and a tiled roof. The rear of the cottage is irregular, with a 20th-century half-glazed door and two roof dormers on the left.
