Description
Yew Tree Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone and features a plain-tile roof with brick end stacks. The building has a two-unit plan and is two stories high, with a three-window range. The central entrance consists of a plank door that has a chamfered wood surround and a wood lintel above it. The cottage has two-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors, each with wood lintels. To the left gable, there is a two-light hollow-chamfered stone mullion window that is partly cut by the roof. Inside, the cottage is noted for its chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace that has a chamfered bressumer.
