Description

This is an 18th-century cottage, which may have originally been an outbuilding. It was extended around 1830, possibly by Decimus Burton, and incorporates brick and stucco. The cottage faces west and has been extended to the south-east by two bays. This extension has a painted brick ground floor and weatherboarded first floor. The gabled ends of this extension form the end bays of the north-east and south-west fronts. The south front is two storeys high and three bays wide, with unequal bays topped by gables; the central gable is smaller and resembles a pediment. Decorative bargeboards are on the right-hand gable, and a porch with a flat wooden hood is to the right of the central window. The east front is three bays wide, with bargeboarded gables to the left and right, and a two-storey canted bay window of three lights to the right.
