Description

Little Bounds is an early 18th century brick house, with a stuccoed front added later. The sides are tile-hung, and the roof is steeply pitched and tiled, featuring a wooden eaves cornice with modillions. Dormers are present; the central one has a segment-headed cornice, while the outer dormers have steep triangular gable pediments. The house is two storeys and an attic, with a five-window facade. The windows have moulded architraves and intact glazing bars. The first floor has a triple window in the centre, which is not tripartite. A half-hexagonal porch with an entablature is supported by a pair of fluted columns, flanking the central portion and pilasters flanking the angled portions. The front door consists of six moulded panels, with a fanlight above. A one-bay ground-floor extension exists on the north side, with a more modern wing added beyond. The house has historical significance as the location of sermons preached by John Wesley in 1763, 1764, and 1769.
