Description

Thatched Cottage is a mid-16th century cottage, later altered and extended in the 20th century. Originally a 2-bay timber-frame building with painted render infill and painted brick sections, it has an old tile gabled roof. The original rectangular plan has been extended to the south and east. The cottage is two storeys high. It features one end gable chimney with an offset on the north side, two chimneys at the rear with offset heads, and a mix of 19th and 20th century casement windows. The east-facing (garden) front has an irregular arrangement of windows. A two-storey extension on the left contains a square, full-height bay window with a hipped roof. A glazed garden door is located on the left side, with a similar door in the centre. A one-storey extension on the right has two 2-light windows and French casements at the end. An entrance door is located on the north gable.
