Diligent Cottage

Diligent Cottage is a late 17th or early 18th century cottage, altered in the 20th century. It is timber-framed with painted render infill and a slate gabled roof. The rectangular plan is three bays wide. The cottage has two storeys and a chimney on the left gable. The south-west front has a symmetrical arrangement of three bays. It features 20th-century leaded casement windows; a three-light window is centrally located on the first floor, with a two-light window to either side. A 20th-century enclosed porch and plain door are centrally placed, with a small fixed light on each side of the porch. Square gabled bay windows flank the ends, each featuring a three-light window and single-light windows in the returns.
