Description
Leighton Manor Farmhouse is a late medieval hall house that has undergone restorations. It features a hipped tiled roof with a compound ridge stack. The first floor is tile hung from the 19th century, while the ground floor is constructed of brick. There is a projecting gabled left wing with an offset external stack on the inner return, and it has casement windows. Inside, the farmhouse boasts very heavy timbers, plank and muntin panelling, a newel staircase, and moulded beams. Some door posts still show remnants of original paintwork. There is a modern west extension designed in a "Georgian" style. Historically, court leets are said to have been held at this location.
