Description
Gottyshill is a late medieval small hall house that dates back to the 15th century. It has two storeys and an attic, featuring two windows. The house has a hipped tiled roof with a compound ridge stack and diagonal shafts, along with a small dormer. The exterior is weatherboarded and rests on a rubble foundation with brick quoins. There is a modern stone square projecting bay with a tiled roof. The first floor has a half dormer from around 1600, which includes moulded eave boards and pendants. The house features various casement windows, including some original small windows with diagonal mullions. Inside, there is an inglenook and much exposed timber, with huge arch braces and tie beams that are both chamfered. A square crown post is present, though one brace has been removed to allow for the insertion of a chimney, which is now partly walled in.
