Description
High Birch is a late 15th-century hall-house that has been converted into a house and restored in the 20th century. It features a timber frame with a plain tiled roof that is hipped to the north and gabled to the south, complete with an end stack and a ridge stack to the north. The building has one gabled semi-dormer and stands two storeys tall, showcasing an irregular front with three casement windows. The ends of the house are jettied, and there is a later extension at the north-west corner. Inside, there are two service doorways with four-centred arches and raised lintels, a large moulded bressumer over the fireplace, and a cambered tie-beam supported by curved braces, along with simple chamfers and a cruciform crown-post.
