Description

Barrow Hill House is a hall-house that has been converted into a residential home. It dates back to the 15th century and was floored in the late 16th century. The building is timber-framed and features a plain tiled roof. It has two storeys and an irregular arrangement of six casement windows on the south side. The north wall retains two original windows with diamond mullions. Inside, there is a large cambered tie-beam, but it does not have a crown-post or purlin. For further details, see the Archaeologia Cantiana, 1964, by E.R. Swain.
