Description
The Dairy at Cobham Hall is a small Gothic-style building constructed around 1790 by architect James Wyatt. It is made of brick, covered in stucco, and features Penrhyn slates, which are one of the few remaining examples where slates are nailed to brickwork and painted to resemble ashlar masonry. The structure is two stories tall and is surrounded on three sides by a vaulted single-storey cloister. This cloister has pointed arches with plaster vaulting and solid walls at each end, topped with pyramidal roofs and pointed windows. Inside the cloister, the room reaches the height of two storeys and is illuminated by three clerestorey windows on the north and south sides.
