Description
Furnace Mill House is a former mill, originally part of old iron works, that has been significantly altered and restored. Only the upper part of the building is visible from the road, with access via a footbridge leading to the first floor. The main garden front presents as two storeys and an attic, with three windows. It has a steeply pitched tiled roof and a projecting gabled central section. A single gabled dormer window is present. The first floor is weatherboarded, while the ground floor is constructed of red brick with a diaper pattern of blue headers. Leaded casement windows are visible. Modern extensions have been added, designed to be in keeping with the original character. The core of the building dates back to the 16th century.
