Description
Chestnut Cottage and Kingswood Chemists is a house pair, now functioning as a house and shop, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. The building is timber framed and weatherboarded, topped with a plain tile roof. It has two storeys and features a wooden eaves cornice adorned with small Ionic modillions. The structure is gabled, with a gable end stack on the left and a rear stack located to the left of centre. There is a small two-light flat-roofed dormer, and the windows display irregular fenestration with three sashes: two with four panes and one with twelve panes. The entrance includes two panelled doors, each with flat bracketed hoods, positioned one to the right of centre and the other also to the right of centre. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included for its group value and was formerly known as Chestnut Cottage and the Singing Kettle.
