Description

Little Loddenden is a pair of houses dating from the 17th century, with an addition or separate house from the late 18th or early 19th century. The building is timber framed, with the front elevation rendered and the first floor of the right gable end tile-hung. It has a plain tile roof and stands two storeys high with a garret on a rendered plinth. The left section has slightly higher eaves and ridge, and the roof is half-hipped on both sides. There is a rear stack to the left of the centre of the left section and a brick stack on the front slope of the roof towards the centre of the right section.

The fenestration is irregular, featuring four windows: one 16-pane sash and one 12-pane sash on the left section, and one 16-pane sash at the left end of the right section, all in open boxes. There is also a three-light wooden casement towards the right end of the right section, with similar ground-floor windows. The entrance to the left section has a panelled door with a rectangular top-light and a flat bracketed hood, while the right section has a similar doorway and hood, but without a top-light, located under the stack. There is a rendered lean-to and a low rendered single-storey addition at the right gable end, as well as a short rear wing to the left that is weatherboarded on the ground floor and rendered above. The interior has not been inspected.
