Description
Oaks Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, that dates from the 17th century or earlier, with a mid-19th century addition and facade. The building is timber framed, with the ground floor constructed of red and grey brick in English bond, and the first floor featuring banded plain and fishscale tiles. It has a plain tile roof. The main range includes a 19th-century cross-wing that projects forward to the right. The structure is two storeys high with an attic, and the roof is hipped to the left. The wing has a gabled end with plain bargeboards and a pendant. There is a projecting brick stack on the left gable end and a multiple brick ridge stack at the junction of the main range and the wing. A slender projecting brick stack is located on the long left side of the wing. The attic gable of the wing has a 2-light leaded casement, while the main range features irregular fenestration with four casements: one 3-light, one 2-light, and one single-light, along with a leaded 3-light window on the gable end of the wing. A ribbed door is situated at the right end of the main range, beneath the stack. There is also a rear lean-to. The interior has not been inspected.
