Description
Minton House is a house from the early to mid-19th century located on the east side of Staplehurst High Street. The building is rendered and features a slate roof with a double depth design. It stands two storeys tall on a rendered plinth, with flat eaves soffits. The façade is distinguished by four Giant Doric pilasters, with one at each end and two towards the centre. The roof is hipped, and there are rendered rear stacks on both the right and left sides.
The front has a regular arrangement of three windows, which are recessed sashes with narrow margin lights and blind boxes. There is an additional similar window on the left side of the ground floor. A central half-glazed door is set behind a single-storey rendered porch, which also features Doric pilasters, a moulded cornice, and a plain parapet. The ground floor on the right side is built out flush with the porch and includes two 4-pane sashes and a moulded cornice. The interior has not been inspected. The house was formerly known as Bangweolo.
