Description
Abbotts Court is a house that dates from the 15th century or later, with early 19th century additions and alterations. The right section features timber framing from the 15th century or later, with the ground floor clad in red brick and the first floor tile-hung, topped with a plain tile roof. It has two storeys on a brick plinth, a roof that is hipped to the right with a gablet, and a small ridge stack towards the right end. The windows are irregularly arranged, consisting of one single-light and two two-light casements. A small wooden porch with a slightly pitched leaded roof is supported by plain posts, leading to a panelled door.
The left section, added in the early 19th century, is constructed of chequered red and grey brick and also has a plain tile roof. This section is two storeys high on a brick plinth, with a roof that is higher and has a shallower pitch than the right section, gabled to the right and hipped to the left. There is a rear stack and one 19th century two-light window on the first floor with narrow marginal glazing bars. The rear wing on the right is made of old red bricks with a plain tile roof, standing two storeys high on a high brick plinth, featuring a steeply pitched roof and a projecting end stack.
