Description
Magpie Hall is a house that dates back to the 16th century or possibly earlier, with later rebuilding on the left side and a 19th-century addition on the right. The central section is timber framed with rendered infilling, while the left end features painted studs on the first floor and a painted brick ground floor. The roof is covered in plain tiles and has one storey and an attic, with the central section resting on a brick plinth. The studding is widely spaced and includes small arch braces on the first floor. The roof is half-hipped on the left side, and there is an off-centre brick ridge stack to the left. A central dormer has a tile-hung gable. The windows are irregularly arranged, consisting of one 3-light and one 2-light casement. There is a half-glazed door located beneath the stack. The 19th-century addition to the right is made of painted brick and has a slate roof, standing two storeys tall with one 3-light casement and a stack at the right end.
