Description
Springfield Farm House is a house that dates back to the 16th century at the rear, was re-fronted in the 18th century, and extended to the left in the 19th century. It has a timber framed core that is clad in red and brown brick, topped with a hipped plain tiled roof. The house is two storeys high and features brick dentilled eaves, with a ridge stack at the centre and an end stack to the left.
On the first floor, there are four 2-light 19th century casement windows, while the ground floor has three windows under cambered heads. There is also an angle bay window on the ground floor to the left. A plank door is located at the centre beneath a gabled porch hood. At the rear left, there is a wing that is tile hung on the first floor, with the frame exposed to the rear right and brick infilled. Inside, substantial quantities of framing are exposed, along with a deep brick fireplace.
