Description

This is a house, extended to its sides and rear, and now divided into separate dwellings. The core of the building dates to the 17th century, with significant remodelling in the 19th century and restoration in the 20th century. The right-hand part of the building is timber framed, with exposed framing to the right gable end. The front is clad in colourwashed brick, with an imitation framing applied to the projecting gable. The roofs are tiled. The building has two storeys and a large square stack positioned to the right of the centre. There are four leaded casement windows on the first floor and a single two-light window in the gable. On the ground floor, there are two leaded casements to the left, one three-light window to the right, and two three-light casements in the gable bay. A door is located to the left, beneath a cambered relieving arch. Further doors are present to the right of centre and at the right end, with a gabled hood and a flat hood respectively. A parallel range to the rear is constructed of coursed Bargate stone with ironstone galleting. 19th-century polychrome brick extensions to the left end, representing numbers 4 and 5, are not part of this listing.
