Description
This is a 17th-century barn located approximately 30 yards southwest of Greenway Forstal Farmhouse, partly in Hollingbourne Civil Parish. The barn is timber framed and weatherboarded, sitting on a stone plinth, and features a hipped corrugated iron roof. It has 19th-century canopied double doors and rear doors in the second bay from the right, along with a boarded door at the top of the left gable end. Inside, the barn consists of four bays with aisles on both sides. The arcade posts rest on wooden cills, with those at the front supported by stone or brick plinths. The arcade posts have gunstock jowls and arch braces, and there are curved passing shores. The roof is a clasped purlin design with diminishing principal rafters.
