Description
Greenway Cottage is a 16th-century cottage that has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick in English bond and features a plain tile roof. The building stands two storeys high with an attic on a stone plinth. A projecting shouldered brick stack is located at the left gable end, and there is a gabled dormer. The windows display irregular fenestration, consisting of two casements: one is a two-light window with a segmental head on the left, and the other is a single-light window on the right. The rear ground-floor window has a doubly-chamfered rectangular brick architrave, and there are various blocked openings present. A half-glazed door is situated towards the centre of the rear elevation, sheltered by a bracketed lean-to hood. To the right, there is a single-storey red brick section with an end stack. The interior has not been inspected. The cottage is likely associated with Greenway Court, which was the residence of the Culpeper family in the 16th century.
