Description

Fern Cottage is an 18th-century house located on the north side of Taylors Hill in Chilham. The building features chequered brickwork and has a plain tile roof. It stands two storeys high with an attic, resting on a brick plinth. There is a rear stack on the left side and a projecting end stack on the right, along with one hipped dormer. The facade has a regular arrangement of two windows, which are 20th-century wood casements set in segment-headed openings. To the left of the windows, there is a 20th-century door framed by a moulded wood surround. This building is included in the listing for its group value only.
