Description
Thompsons House is an 18th-century house located on the north side of Taylors Hill in Chilham. Constructed of red brick with a plain tile roof, the house is 1½ storeys high, with two gabled dormers featuring bargeboards that break the eaves. A large central chimney stack is a prominent feature. The front of the house has two windows, which are 20th-century wooden casements set within segment-headed surrounds. A 19th-century front door, constructed with six fielded panels and a flat hood supported by brackets, is centrally located. A later 19th-century two-storey extension of red brick and plain tile roof is attached to the left side. The property is included on the heritage register primarily for its group value.
