Description
Well Cottage is a house dating from the 16th century, specifically 1549, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed with a timber frame, featuring painted brick infill and a plain tile roof. The building has two storeys set on a brick plinth, and it includes a continuous first-floor jetty. The roof has a 19th-century gable on the left side and a hip on the right, with an end stack on the left and another stack at the rear right. The structure has a two-bay frame with curved tension braces and irregular window placements, consisting of two 20th-century casements on the first floor and three on the ground floor. The central doorway is a 20th-century plank and stud design set within a 16th-century chamfered pointed arched opening. There is also a date and name plaque on the left side elevation.
