Description
No 2, The Square, also known as The Church Mouse, is a house that has been converted into a restaurant. It dates back to the 17th century and has been restored. After a fire in the early 20th century, the timber frame was restored and is now exposed with plaster infill, while the building is underpinned with red brick. The structure has two storeys and features a jettied first floor. It has a gabled roof with an end stack on the left side. On the first floor, there are three wooden casement windows. The ground floor has a large wooden mullioned window on the right, with a brick two-light mullioned window above it. The central entrance features a board and stud door set in a chamfered doorway, which also has a label over it. The building is included in the listing for its group value.
