Description
Railtons is an 18th-century house located on the north-east side of Church Street in Tibenham. The building is constructed of roughcast brick and features a hipped roof covered with black glazed pantiles. It has a moulded brick eaves cornice and stands two storeys tall with three windows. The windows are sashes with glazing bars, although one has been replaced by a modern casement and another has plate glass. There are two doorways; the left-hand doorway has a moulded architrave doorcase with an entablature, reeded frieze, and a panelled door, while the right-hand doorway is a modern glazed door. At the south-east end, there is a late 19th-century one-storey wing that serves as a shop. The house likely has an earlier core, evidenced by the chamfered ceiling beams found inside.
