Description
Milestone located 150 meters north of the junction with Winchester Road in Micheldever. This milestone dates from the early 19th century and is made of painted stone featuring a cast iron plate. It has a rectangular shape with a rounded top and is painted white. The front of the milestone displays a plate with raised black lettering indicating the distances to London (57 miles) and Winchester (6 miles). It is situated along the route of Popham Lane to the Winchester Turnpike, established in 1758.
