No. 117 Duke Street is a cottage that dates from the 17th century, with a late 20th-century two-bay wing added to the centre bay on the left and a lean-to along the right side. The original 17th-century cottage is three bays wide and one and a half storeys tall. The end facing the road features exposed framing, with 20th-century windows set in the original openings.
