Description

This is a house, originally a pair of cottages, situated in Micheldever. The building dates back to the 16th century and was remodelled in the 18th century, with further alterations around 1970. It is constructed with a timber frame and brick infill, and has a thatched roof. The house is smaller than other buildings in the area, featuring a 1 1/2-storey design with three bays and timber-framed projections extending outwards at each end. A central doorway was moved in the 18th century and features a baffle entry. There are panelled areas where doors were originally located, alongside 18th-century two-light casement windows. A further two-light casement window has been inserted in the central bay. Above the end bays is an eyebrow dormer with a small, 19th-century three-light casement built on top of the wall plate. The roof has a hip sweep over the projections and a 19th-century brick ridge stack.
