Description

The Forge is a working forge dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of brick and has a plain tile roof. The building is positioned end on to the road and is a single storey with a tall roof, featuring a range of four windows. There is a door located near the road end and another at the far end. The windows were replaced in the 20th century. The high hipped roof has stacks located in the rear end hip and on the rear face at the center. Inside, there are 19th-century brick forges, with two forges served by one stack that divides into two flues forming an arch. The roof structure features queen posts and reused timbers.
