Description
No. 3 Rushton is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid to late 19th century and a 20th-century addition. The building is timber framed, with some parts rebuilt in painted brick, and features a thatched roof. It consists of two framed bays and has one storey with an attic that is lit by gable windows. At the rear, there is an integral 19th-century brick lateral chimney stack. The framing includes short straight corner braces. The front of the cottage has two 19th-century two-light wooden casements, while a 20th-century lean-to addition on the right has a half-glazed door on its left-hand return front. The left-hand gable end features a 19th-century two-light segmental-headed casement. Inside, there is a chamfered beam with plain stops.
