Description

Milestone located in the central reservation beside Lunways Inn, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of painted stone and features a cast iron plate. The milestone has a rectangular shape with a rounded top and is painted white. The front of the milestone displays black lettering indicating distances: LONDON 58 and WINCHESTER 5. This milestone is situated on the route of Popham Lane to the Winchester Turnpike, established in 1758.
