Description

Hann's Cottage, Linden Cottage, and The Old Malt House are a row of cottages that were formerly maltings, dating from the late 18th century and early 19th century. They are constructed of brick, with the central cottage rendered, and feature an old plain tile roof. The buildings are two stories high, each with two irregular bays.

On the left, The Old Malt House has a late 18th-century planked door in the left bay, which is sheltered by a wide flat hood. Above this door are half-glazed double doors that were originally a loading bay. To the right, there is a two-light casement window. Near each end of this cottage, there are small casement windows, all featuring rubbed brick heads.

The central cottage, known as Horns, has a six-panel door to the left of center, which is also sheltered by a gabled hood. On the right end, there is a similar garden door, with wide six-pane sash windows on either side. The first floor has a string course and two wide six-pane sashes.

On the right, Linden Cottage features a six-panel door under a flat hood on the right side, and a 16-pane sash window to the left. Above, there is a wide 12-pane sash and a two-light casement. The cottages have dentilled eaves throughout, and the roof is hipped to the right with a rear wing. There are ridge stacks located between the right two cottages and in the center over the door.
