Description
Birmingham Canal Top Lock Cottages are two cottages built in the late 18th century, with later alterations. They are constructed of brick and feature a tiled roof with brick stacks. The cottages are two storeys high and have a five-window range. The ground floor includes segmental-headed windows; most of these have six-pane horned sashes, although one ground floor window has been replaced by a 20th-century casement with a concrete lintel. There is a plain sash and a four-pane sash at the right end of the ground floor. The entrance is located to the right of the first window on the left and features a panelled door. The cottages have end stacks and two cross-axial stacks, along with a large scrolled wrought-iron lantern bracket. At the rear, there is a gabled wing with a catslide lean-to. The cottages are included for their group value.
