Description
The canal footbridge at the entrance to Broad Street Basin in Wolverhampton was built around 1850. It is constructed from brick and cast iron, featuring a segmental arch with low lattice work parapets that are cast in one piece. The bridge has brick abutments and ramps on each side, measuring approximately 40 meters long and 2.5 meters wide. This footbridge was designed to allow the towpath to cross over a branch of the Birmingham Canal at the Wolverhampton level.
