Description
Eversfield is a house with a 17th-century core, significantly remodelled in the 18th and 19th centuries. The original timber-frame structure was later encased in brick, and the front was rendered when bays were added. The roof is covered with old plain tiles.
The house originally comprised a two-storey, two-bay timber-frame building. In the 18th century, a wing was built to the rear on the left side. An early 19th-century wing extended this, and a further wing was added to the rear on the left. In the mid-19th century, bays were added to the front. The front elevation now features two bays, two storeys high, with mid-19th-century full-height canted bays, each containing four-pane sash windows topped by hipped roofs. A former opening between the bays has been blocked. A stack is located at the left end of the hipped roof. The left side of the brickwork displays 18th-century casement windows and a door. A timber-frame structure is visible inside. The building is included on the list for group value.
