Description
Fords Farmhouse is an early 19th-century house located on the west side of Broughton High Street. It features chequerwork brick on the front and is rendered at the rear, topped with a slate roof. The building is two storeys high with a layout of two by two bays. There is a central round rubbed brick arch that originally led to a door, which now has an original fanlight above and a 9-pane window. The facade includes four 6-pane sash windows with rubbed brick heads. To the left, there is a 19th-century lean-to that has a similar sash window. The house has wide eaves beneath a hipped roof, and the end stacks, which were originally located at both ends, are now positioned at the front on the right and the rear on the left. At the back, there is a cob barn and walls. The farmhouse is included for its group value.
