Description
North End Cottage is a house that dates from the 16th century and was extended in the 17th and 18th centuries when it became cottages. It features a timber-frame structure with wattle and daub and colourwashed brick infill, topped with a thatched roof. The building is 1 and a half stories tall and consists of four bays, with a hip bay added to the left and an outshot to the right.
There is a 20th-century half-glazed door located under a hood at the right of the center bay. Each side has a pair of 20th-century two-light casements, and there is a similar casement in each of the additions. In the left two bays, there are three or four-light casements. Above each bay, there is a three-light casement in an eyebrow dormer. The right bay has exposed joist ends from an inserted first floor. The roof is hipped and sweeps down to the right, featuring a ridge piece, with a ridge stack located between the left bays and at the right end of the roof.
