Description

Brigge House is a late 18th-century house located on the east side of Broughton High Street. Constructed primarily of brick with a slate roof, it originally comprised four bays, with a further bay added to the left, set back from the main facade. The bays are of irregular size. The main entrance is located in the third bay from the right and features a 6-panel door, with two panels replacing what would have been a semi-circular fanlight. A second door, planked and set within a rendered arch, provides access to the garden on the right-hand side. There are six 16-pane sash windows dating to the 18th century. The added bay contains similar sash windows above a pair of double doors. Brick stacks are located at each end of the original section and on the added bay. A granary, converted into a studio around 1912, is situated in the garden to the rear.
