Description

12 and 12A Hill Street are a pair of early 18th century cottages. They have a timber frame structure, with a new brick ground floor and new weatherboarding above, featuring a slight bellcast between the two materials. The cottages have a tiled roof with a hipped end and are two storeys high. The front is three windows wide with irregular fenestration, showcasing modern two and three-light casements with glazing bars, and the ground floor has cornices. There are two new oak doors at the center. At the rear, there are wings with weatherboarded ends, and the side of No 12A is made of stone rubble. Nos 8 to 12 (consecutive) and No 12A form a group.
