Description

Mill Stream Cottage comprises two cottages, numbered 10 and 12, situated on the south side of Clophill High Street. The building dates to the 18th and 19th centuries. The central section is of brick construction with a slate roof, while the left and right sections are timber-framed with thatched roofs. The exterior of the whole row has been rendered with colourwashed roughcast. The left block is single-storeyed, the central block is two-storeyed, and the right block has one storey and attics, resulting in a five-room plan. Most windows are 20th-century, 2-light leaded casements: six to the ground floor, one to the first floor of the central block, and two to eyebrow dormers on the right block. Number 12 features a door with two moulded panels. A variety of ridge and gable-end stacks, all of red brick, are present.
