Description
No. 19 High Street is a house built in the later 18th century, with a date of 1764 and the initials S.B., A.B., F.B., W.B., and I.S. incised in the brickwork above the doorway. The building is constructed of red brick and has a clay tile roof. It features a five-room plan and stands two storeys high. There are two ground floor windows and one first floor window, all of which are two-light wood mullion and transom windows with leaded lights. The ground floor windows have gauged brick heads.
The house has two doorways; the principal doorway is located between the two left-hand bays and is slightly narrower than the one on the right-hand side. Both doorways have moulded surrounds and hoods supported by cut brackets, and they feature moulded panel doors. A moulded brick eaves cornice runs along the top of the building. There is a red brick integral stack on the left-hand gable and a red brick multiple ridge stack serving the two right-hand bays. Additionally, a weatherboarded and tiled outbuilding projects at a right angle from the left side of the house.
