Description
The garden walls, screen, and gate to Clophill House date from the 18th century. They are constructed from red brick, featuring walls and piers, with a gate and screen made of wrought iron. The average height of the structure is 2.5 metres, extending approximately 75 metres along the road edge, turning to run 10 metres along Mill Lane to the west and 25 metres along the driveway to the east. The walls are built in Flemish bond, with flared header decoration in some areas, and are capped by semi-circular bricks. Square brick piers are placed at irregular intervals, topped with capping and a variety of urns made from artificial stone. In front of the main block of the house, there is a fairly plain wrought iron screen with foliate panels set into a low brick plinth. A few metres to the right of this, aligned with the front door, is a wrought iron gate featuring foliate cresting and side panels.
