Description
The building is a house that serves as a post office, dating from the 17th century and reworked in the 19th century. It features timber framed construction with colourwashed roughcast render on the front and pebbledash render on the east side. The west gable end was rebuilt in 20th-century brick. The roof is covered with clay tiles. The building has a two-room plan and is one storey high with attics, along with a later two-storey block that projects from the rear, creating an overall L-plan shape.
On the ground floor, there is a wood mullion and transom window on the left-hand side and a projecting rectangular shop front on the right-hand side. The building has two gabled dormers, each with two-light casements. The doorway, aligned with a red brick double ridge stack, features a part-glazed door and a pedimented door hood supported by cut brackets. Above the door, there is a single-light window. The eaves cornice is supported by wood brackets, and there is a red brick integral stack on the left-hand gable end.
