Description
The village lock-up and pound, dating from the early to mid-19th century, is constructed of red brick with a slate roof. The lock-up is a small square building topped with a low pyramidal roof. The north elevation features a plank door topped by a metal grille, while the rear elevation has a small single light. All elevations are adorned with a simple corbelled brick cornice. The pound consists of a red brick wall that encloses a small square yard at the rear right, standing approximately one metre high and capped with rounded bricks. It has a timber gate located at the center. This structure is included for its socio-historical interest.
