Description

The building comprises a row of six cottages located on the north side of Cookham High Street. Dating to the 16th and 18th centuries, they have been altered and extended in the 20th century. The construction is a mixture of timber framing with painted render and brick infill, and brick. The roofs are primarily of old tiles, with a higher central section gabled and hipped ends to the other sections. Nos. 1 and 2 have a lower ridge level. The cottages have two storeys, with a central ridge chimney, a chimney on the right-hand side, and one at the rear. The windows are a combination of 19th and 20th century casements with glazing bars on the first floor, similar ground floor windows, although No. 4 incorporates one sash window with glazing bars. There are six 20th-century plank entrance doors, each with a plain hood.
